1. Who we are

Wasatch Automation, LLC is a Utah limited liability company located in Centerville, Utah, USA. We publish the MeterSight family of power and energy monitoring software (Bronze, Silver and Gold). For privacy questions, contact legal@wasatchautomation.net.

2. Information we collect on this website

Information you give us. When you submit the contact form we receive the details you enter: name, company or site, email address, phone number if provided, the package and number of meters you select, and your message. We use this to respond to your request, issue trial licenses, prepare quotes and provide support.

Information collected automatically. This site is hosted on Netlify. Netlify's edge network records standard server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, referrer and timestamp) for security and operational purposes. We do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics on this site. If we add privacy-respecting analytics in the future, we will update this policy.

Cookies and local storage. This website does not set cookies for tracking. The site may use browser local storage only to remember interface preferences on your device; nothing is transmitted to us.

Fonts. Pages load the Inter typeface from Google Fonts. Your browser sends a request to Google's servers to fetch the font files, which discloses your IP address to Google. See Google's privacy policy for details. You can block third-party fonts in your browser; the site remains fully usable with system fonts.

3. How we use information

To respond to enquiries, provide trial licenses, quotes, demonstrations and support.
To administer licenses and, if you opt in, to send product and security update notices.
To operate, secure and improve the website.
To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

4. Legal bases (where applicable)

Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on: performance of a contract or steps at your request before entering one (responding to enquiries, issuing licenses); our legitimate interests in operating and securing our business and website; your consent where you have given it (for example, marketing emails, which you may withdraw at any time); and compliance with legal obligations.

5. Information processed by the MeterSight software

MeterSight runs on a Windows computer that you own or control. Meter readings, waveforms, reports, site configuration, user accounts and backups are stored in a PostgreSQL database on that computer. We do not have access to this data and it is not transmitted to us.

The software may communicate with our licensing and update service only for the following optional purposes, and only transmits the data needed for them:

Online license activation and status: license key or product identifier, application version, a device fingerprint (machine ID) and device name.
Update checks and downloads: product, version, device ID and update authorization details.

Both can be avoided entirely by using offline signed license files and manual updates. Emails sent by MeterSight (scheduled reports, alarm notifications) go to the SMTP server you configure, not to us.

The MeterSight End User License Agreement provided with your order governs use of the software and contains further detail on data handling.

6. Service providers

Netlify, Inc. hosts this website and processes contact form submissions on our behalf.
Neon (serverless PostgreSQL) and Netlify host our licensing and update service.
Google Fonts serves the site typeface as described above.
Email providers we use to reply to you.

These providers process data under contracts that restrict use to providing their services to us.

7. International transfers

We are located in the United States and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

8. Retention

Contact enquiries are retained for as long as needed to respond and, if you become a customer, for the life of the relationship plus the period required by law and for the defence of legal claims. Licensing records are retained for the life of the license. Server logs are retained by our hosting provider for a limited period.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, email legal@wasatchautomation.net. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by applicable law. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Residents of California and other US states with comprehensive privacy laws: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that require a right to limit.

10. Security

We protect personal information with technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encrypted transport, access controls and the software security practices described on our security page. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

This website and the MeterSight software are intended for businesses and are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
