Run the installer as an administrator
Setup registers the MeterSight Bronze Windows service, installs its own PostgreSQL 18 instance on a dedicated port, opens the web port in Windows Firewall and starts the web interface at http://localhost:8081.
Activate and add meters
Paste your trial or full license key, or import an offline license file. Then add each meter by IP address and unit ID, set your billing-cycle day and blended rate, and the dashboard starts filling.

Unchanged operation

CSV exports, energy calculations, billing settings, polling intervals, historian recording, licensing and backup safeguards are unchanged. Setup creates a verified pre-update backup before replacing application files; existing data, users, settings and license are preserved.

Download and installation questions

Is the download free?

Yes. The installer is free to download and contains no customer data, demo readings or license. To run MeterSight Bronze you activate a license key: request a free 7-day trial key from the contact page, then purchase a perpetual license when you are ready. Your data and settings carry over.

Can I install it on a machine without internet access?

Yes. The installer is self-contained (application, Node runtime and PostgreSQL 18). Activation works online, or fully offline by exporting the machine ID and importing a signed license file.

Does this installer update an existing Bronze installation?

Yes. Run it over an existing install. Setup takes a verified pre-update backup before replacing application files, and existing data, users, settings and license are preserved.

Where do I get Silver or Gold?

Silver and Gold installers are provided with a trial or order because they are configured for your site during onboarding. Ask for a Silver or Gold trial and an engineer will send the installer link and a trial key.

Windows says the publisher is Wasatch Automation, LLC. Is that right?

Yes. Every MeterSight installer, updater and uninstaller is Authenticode-signed and timestamped as Wasatch Automation, LLC. If Windows shows an unknown publisher, do not run the file; download it again from this page and compare the SHA-256 checksum.
